Science National Honor Society (SNHS)

About the Science National Honor Society

Welcome to West Port High School's Science National Honor Society! We are an active chapter and part of the national Science National Honor Society organization. The goals of the organization are to promote science and critical thinking skills among high school students. In order to be a member, students must be a junior or senior, have at least a 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA and at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA in science courses taken. We are looking for students interested in promoting STEM, brainstorming together about current topics, and possibly attending symposiums and competitions in the near future.

Students participating in our chapter should try to attend as many meetings as possible throughout the year. Seniors who wish to receive an SNHS honor cord at the end of the year will need to attend at least 80% of the meetings and volunteer for tutoring at least twice per month, either during lunch (October through May) or in the after school program which runs October through March. A verification of service will be required on the form provided.

The national SNHS organization also offers scholarships to seniors, please check their website for information and the application. Don't miss out on an opportunity to get FREE money!
